SAGINAW SPIRIT NIGHT- FEBRUARY 3RD- 7:11 PM

Tickets must be purchased at the Y desk by January 26th

The Saginaw Sharks are well known for doing exciting things in the pool and the Saginaw Spirit are exciting by what they do on the frozen water at the DOW. So come join your fellow Sharks for Y night at the Dow on Saturday, February 3rd at 7:11 pm when the Spirit take on the Erie Otters. Tickets are $11.50 each, they are available at the YMCA desk, to insure group seating. This is a fundraiser for the YMCA, so along with having a great time with the sharks, you’ll also help our new improved Saginaw YMCA.

SHARKS FAMILY FUN NIGHT AT THE YMCA COMING SOON DATE TO BE ANNOUNCED

Get ready! We are planning an Electrifying, exciting and exhilarating night at the Y for all Sharks and their Families. As we all know, the Y capital improvement campaign is nearing completion, and for some crazy reason, Tim and Matt are allowing the Sharks to have the run of the place for a night of hilarity and glee. There will be a modest charge to cover YMCA expenses, but plans include movies, gym activities, great food, and more! Remember, this is a family night, so all Shark family members are welcome, even mom and dad!   Stay Tuned…

JEFF SCHIERES SCHOLARSHIP AWARD

Jeff was a member of the Saginaw Y Swim Team who passed away in Oct.1989.

A scholarship has been set up through his family and the YMCA in his honor. If you are interested in applying, the swimmer must be at least 11 years or older, and if chosen $175 will be applied to a swim camp of the individuals choice.

If you would like one of these forms, please ask Chet.

CHET’S LANE

They will be taking deck entries at the Flint 50’s meet if you would still like to go. Please watch the team box for all of this meet information and watch your deadlines. We will not take late entries for any of these championship meets, as I have to turn the entries in by a deadline also. Please include your relay money. Chet will put together relays if there are enough kids in each age group. The season is going by very fast.  For most of the team, your last meet will be the MTSL Novice or Championship.  After those meets, it will only be the Zone and National swimmers finishing their season. We will start up again in May. We also offer a summer program for those of you who may be interested. In today’s age you should train year round, even if you go down to the YMCA on your own in the off-season. You can swim in the pool (there will be a book of workouts in the pool area), or train in the new workout area, or use Fitlinxx, or even the track. Remember, you are a Y member and should use the YMCA to your advantage.
