STATE MEET INFO. CONT.
-
A NUMBER OF YOU ARE VERY CLOSE TO MAKING
QUALIFYING TIMES. WE WILL BE UPDATING TIMES AFTER THE CLUSTER MEET. SO, IF
YOU DO MAKE STATE TIMES AT CLUSTERS, YOU WILL BE ABLE TO ATTEND THE STATE
MEET.
-
IF YOU DO NOT MAKE THE Q-TIMES, YOU WILL
STILL HAVE TO SEE IF YOU MADE THE MTSL CHAMPIONSHIP MEET TIMES. BOTH MTSL
MEETS ARE FUN MEETS. EVERYONE SHOULD WIN MEDALS OR RIBBONS AT THESE MEETS.
-
IF YOU DO NOT HAVE THE RIGHT T-SHIRT SIZE
CHANGE IT ASAP. TALK TO CHET.
CHET’S LANE
Please watch your mailboxes
for meet information and deadlines. Late entries will not be taken for
any of the championship meets. Please include your relay money. Chet will put
together relays if there are enough kids in each age group. At all championship
meets the four fastest Sharks will be on the relays. The season is going by very
fast. For most of the team, your last meet will be the MTSL Novice or
Championship. After those meets only the Zone and National swimmers will need
to finish their season. The practice season doesn’t officially end until March
15th, so even when your meets are completed you may still continue to attend
practices. In May, we have the conditioning program. It will be three days a
week on Monday, Wednesday and Friday at Heritage. We also offer a summer program
for those of you who are interested. The summer program is in the morning and
usually starts when school gets out in June. It will be held on Monday,
Wednesday from 7:30-9:30 a.m. at Heritage and then on Tuesday and Thursday and
Friday at the YMCA. Prices on both of these programs will be available at a
later time. In today’s age you should train year round, even if you go down to
the YMCA on your own in the off-season. You can swim in the pool (there will be
a book of workouts in the pool area), or use Fitlinxx and the new workout area,
or even the track. Remember, you are a Y member and should use the YMCA to your
advantage.
**CHET**
P.S. Please wear the right
clothes for this time of year. I do not want you getting sick before the
championship meets. Too much time and effort have been put in to see it all go
by the wayside. Be smart. Do what you need to do, to be successful. The key
to Success is learning how to do something right; then do it right every time.
