DALE GOODING MEET

December 2nd at Heritage. Deadline for advertising sales for the Dale Gooding Meet is November 21. We are still in need of sponsors at all levels. Information sheets are in the box. Parents please try to sell at least one ad. The more money we bring in for this meet, the less fundraising we will need to do throughout the year. Entry deadline will be Thursday, Nov. 16.

A volunteer sign up sheet for the meets will be by the team box until all slots are full. Please consider either a morning or afternoon session so that all parents will have a chance to watch their swimmer. The more help we have the smoother the meet will run. Also please consider buying a t-shirt for $3.00 ($4.00 for sizes over x-large) to wear at the meet. We would like to see all volunteers in a meet shirt.

There will also be a sign up sheet for concessions & snacks. In order for our concession stand to be successful, we will need every family to supply at least one item that can be sold at the meet  -  packaged, semi-nutritious items only.  The more items that are donated the less we will have to purchase from team funds.

If you have questions, please contact Penny Weber @ 790-3516 or 245- 0273.

PRACTICE CHANGE

WE WILL BE PRACTICING AT ARTHUR HILL ON MONDAY, WEDNESDAY AND FRIDAY AT THE SAME TIME, THIS WEEK ONLY. WE WILL BE BACK AT HERITAGE NEXT WEEK.

HOME MEET VOLUNTEERS

This is a heads up. At every Dual or Invitational home meet, we will need 12 back-up timers. There are also many other jobs that you can help with so all of our parents get the chance to watch their son/daughter swim. (IE, Marshalling, Concessions, Ribbons & Timing) Any help that you are willing to give is greatly appreciated.

HEALTH FORMS & FEES

There are still a number of people that have not turned in their health forms. There are forms in the team box.  Please fill it out and give back to Chet. Also, if you are not on the roster, then you have not paid your swim team fees. Please do so at the YMCA, ASAP. If you don’t, they will be sending you a bill in the mail. You will also not be able to compete in the next meet if you do not take care of these items. Thank you.

MIDLAND MEET

Midland entries deadline is Tuesday, November 14th.

CHET’S LANE

Congratulations to the Heritage Girl’s Swim Team for a great runner up performance at The Valley Championships. These meets really speak well for our program. Many of the girls participating on the various high school teams are members of the Saginaw YMCA Sharks Swim Team. In fact, some races had 2 or 3 of our girls racing in the finals.

We should have some of our girls returning to the Sharks this week. We do have other girls going to the State Championships Friday and Saturday. Heritage girls will be swimming at Oakland University and Nouvel girls will be at Eastern Michigan University starting at noon on Friday for preliminaries, finals are on Saturday @ 12 noon. Good Luck to all of you!!!!! See you on Sunday at MC. As the high school girls’ season is ending, I would hope all of the high school girls are returning to swim with the Sharks. Remember, taking 8 months off would have serious impact on your swimming career. The sharks also have a summer program which is so very important for high school girls season, you should swim this summer if not year round.

The boy’s season will be beginning November 20th. All of our boys are permitted to swim two meets outside of their high school season. This would start the day of your first meet. Remember boys, you must have swam in three YMCA meets & all of your times from high school season count towards any of the championship meets…just as the girls times did. In fact we will need someone to help Beno with practice this Friday 6:30 – 8:00 pm at Arthur Hill. Any questions on school issues, please ask!! Boys, you still can come to practice, and help out with little kids and at the meets. Any help would be greatly appreciated.  I would like to see you help with home meets as long as it does not conflict with your high school events. Good luck in your season. Please stay in touch, and remember we still have meets after your season is over.
